I have decided to write about this all inclusive resort first because it is the most recent vacation I went on! My husband and I chose to go to Moon Palace for our Honeymoon in Dec 2014.
Personally we loved this resort! There are three parts to it: Sunrise, Nizuc and Grand. Each part is a 5-10 min walk away from each other. There is a bus service that also transports you around the resort. The best word to describe this resort is HUGE. There is so much to do and so much going on that you can never be bored! Now I know some people like more intimate resorts but for us it worked just fine. It is a good resort to go to if you have a large group of people (wedding, family reunion or group of friends) as there will be something for everyone.
Sunrise section is great for families. This is where the kids splash area is as well as lots of entertainment and The playroom for kids ages 4-12. Nizuc section has something to offer everyone. A wide range of food, large pool area, entertainment all greatly accessible by being in the middle. The Grand section where we stayed is spectacular! It is great for those looking for a quieter area with a laid back atmosphere. There is 2 infinity pools as well as the sports pool plus a couple restaurants.
There are 15 different restaurants to chose from. The food was really good for the most part across the resort. Our favourite was the Teppanyaki, but the buffets in each section were great too. The only thing we were not impressed with was the deserts! There was a few good ones but overall the deserts were not at the same level as the rest of the food.
The resort has its own dolphinarium that we tried out which was great since you only have to walk out onto the pier instead of going to a separate location! There is also a nightclub and 12 bars including those at the pool or inside. If you are a golfer then you must check out the 27 hole Jack Nicklaus Golf course at this resort. The resort also offers scuba diving lessons. Like I said this resort has something for everyone!
I would definitely suggest this resort for weddings! There are lots of different locations around the resort to choose to say “i do”. There was at least one wedding a day for the week we were there but most days there were multiple ones. They do multiple different types of ceremonies including Indian Weddings! If you are interested in a destination wedding and you want a large resort this is a strong contender.
For the rest of the year there is a promotion going on for a 1500 resort credit per room. We took advantage of this when we were there! All you pay is the tax (which is 19%). It is great because it can be used for excursions, spa, romantic dinners, and alcohol/jewelry from the gift shop.
Overall this is a great resort. Check out my pictures to get a good glimpse of it and consider it for your next vacation!
